We are pleased to announce Phenomenon Cares – an ongoing programme that aims to play a vital part in the community we operate in.
The first part of the programme will focus on animals, and in particular stray or abandoned cats. There is an estimated of more than 60,000 stray cats in Singapore (reported by Channel News Asia in 2016: https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/942-stray-dogs-888-stray-cats-and-623-wild-monkeys-euthanised-in-8135710) and more than 5,000 animals required neutering (2015 SPCA Selangor Annual Report) in SPCA Selangor in 2013 alone. The huge increasing number of stray animals is mainly caused by owners’ negligence or abandonment due to sickness.
How Will Phenomenon Cares Contribute?
We will be pledging one vaccination and one neutering procedure for every new client or a new project that is coming on board with Phenomenon Consulting Pte Ltd in any of the three markets we operate in. We hope that through this initiative we can achieve two objectives:
1. Ecological and Social Wellbeing
Without adequate vaccination, the cats are vulnerable to carrying and spreading annoying diseases such as rabies. We want to ensure the stray cats are able to enjoy the quality of their cat-life while refraining from spreading diseases to other animals or human.
Only by neutering, we can put a stop to more cats wandering in the streets. A female cat can have a minimum of up to 10 more kittens in a year and this number can easily get out of control if attention is received immediately.
2. More SMEs Coming Onboard
We want to prove to other similar small and medium-sized businesses that they too can do a part in giving back to the community they operate in, regardless of the contribution size.
We will be posting updates of our contributions through this page and hopefully be able to inspire more individuals and corporations joining us to improve the living conditions around us.
