MiQ Infinity Company (MiQi) is a Hong Kong-based brand and business that provides a range of personal and corporate services that helps an individual understand themselves better through character reading from fingerprints. Phenomenon Consulting was appointed for providing bespoke web design for this Hong Kong brand with an objective of increasing awareness and engaging its user through its website, http://miqimiqi.com/.
Bespoke Web Design Discovery Phase
Because we do not have a local office based in Hong Kong, frequent communication through emails, phone calls and messaging were necessary to ensure we understood all of the client’s requirements and expectations of the website redesign. Together, we went through several rounds including conference calls with the Hong Kong team and defined a scope of work and features lists for their new website. The new website was also to be launched in two different phases to coincide with their marketing campaigns.
Basic Website Content Management System Structure
MiQi needed a system that can enable them to self-update simple events. We installed a basic WordPress CMS onto their pre-approved website design layout and customised the architecture into something robust, secure and easy to use for self-updating. Every team member was provided a unique credential login for access and self-management. The system is able to track individual users’ content update and generate reports if necessary for monitoring purposes. After completion of this phase, our team travelled to Hong Kong to provide hands-on training on how to use the CMS.
Automated Quiz System
One of the key requirements for this bespoke web design project was to engage its users on the site, directly reducing any possible bounce rates. With MiQi providing the methodology, we created an algorithm that enables the system to generate an accurate result from more than 40 character personalities from answering a few questions. The result generation was instantaneous and both users and administrator are able to be notified through receiving emails. After successfully completing the quiz, users will then be redirected to the next phase of the user journey cycle.
Customised E-Commerce Experience
Because MiQi is a virtual service provider, their sales process and e-commerce requirements also differ slightly from the traditional. We provided a solution to enable customisation during the user check out experience. This includes reducing the input fields required, and also enabled users to upload digital images of their fingerprints for detailed analysis. Users are also select their preferred payment platform to complete the transaction. Administrators are able to view all user reports and export those data for further review and evaluation.
Improving User Experience
MiQi’s target customer based are 3 main segments, Hong Kong (their headquarters), Mainland China, and the rest of the world. To improve user experience from these three main target segments, the website is empowered with multi-region and multi-language functionality. Users are able to toggle in between languages anytime browsing the website and land on the appropriate translated pages. This function spreads across all pages and functions include checking out and payment gateway processes.
